PILI's 2012 Alumni CLE program had a panel discussion on working with diverse client populations, including mental health and racial issues surrounding attorney-client relationships as well as strategies to better serve clients from diverse populations. We are grateful to our speakers for their participation:

2011 Alumni Program & Reception

Serving on a Nonprofit Board of Directors

This year's program, Serving on a Nonprofit Board of Directors, featured an interactive segment exploring the dynamics of board service for attorneys as well as a segment on understanding nonprofit financial statements, and was presented by the following speakers:

  • Erica Spangler Raz, Staff Attorney at The Law Project
  • Molly Brooks, Outreach Coordinator at The Law Project
  • Brian Wheelock, Tax Partner at Blackman Kallick

The program was held on Tuesday, August 23 at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, 300 North LaSalle Street, from 5:30-7:30pm, and included an informal networking reception for Alumni. PILI also distributed a list of the latest board service and pro bono opportunities available within Chicago’s public interest law community. We have applied for 1.0 hours of CLE credits for this program.
