PILI 2008 Celebrating Pro Bono Reception |

PILI's Celebrating Pro Bono Annual Reception was held on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at the Harold Washington Library's Winter Garden Room.
This was PILI’s annual opportunity to spotlight our community’s pro bono relationships and successes and the work of the Pro Bono Initiative. At this year’s reception, in addition to the informal conversation, networking, appetizers and refreshments we enjoy each year, we also hosted Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas L. Kilbride, a former legal aid attorney and advocate for pro bono legal services, as distinguished guest speaker.
Thank you for joining your colleagues from law firms, corporations, legal aid agencies and law schools to celebrate pro bono relationships and successes.

Each year PILI’s Annual Awards Luncheon gathers more than 450 members of the legal community to celebrate the best aspects of the profession. It is a forum to recognize those performing remarkable public interest and pro bono work. The Luncheon features several awards to acknowledge those whose work epitomizes the ideal of access to justice for all. The Distinguished Public Service Award honors an individual whose commitment to public interest work has shaped a career dedicated to service. The Distinguished Alumni Awards recognize a former PILI intern and fellow for outstanding contributions of public interest and pro bono work. The Pro Bono Initiative Award acknowledges a single organization (law firm or corporation) for unprecedented pro bono work in the community, while the Pro Bono Initiative Honor Roll recognizes numerous firms and corporations distinguished by exemplary pro bono work.

As PILI’s primary fundraising event, the Annual Awards Luncheon offers a range of sponsorship levels as well as individual ticket sales.
